What to see in Cyprus. George Avakas

Gorge Avakas was for us one of the most unusual places in Cyprus. I watch photos and can't believe that it's really on Cyprus. After reading the reviews about this place, we decided that we certainly need to go there. We went in mid-October, I think that this is the best time to visit the place. After a dry summer the water is not so much, so we and the children can  very easy go. There were only a few places where we were carrying babies in the arms.
Well, not as hot as in the summer.  Just consider that at autumn sun sets earlier and better come back when it's still sun.

Отправлясь в это маленькое путешествие, я переживала, как мои девочки трех лет преодолеют такой маршрут. Но на удивление они шли хорошо, им было очень интересно. Мы останавливались пофотографировать и чуть отдохнуть. И этот удивительный поход вдохновил нас на поездку к водопаду Каледония, но это уже другая история, о которой обязательно напишу немного позже.
Итак, ущелье Авакас. Где же находится это ущелье? Проще всего добраться с Пафоса. Но если вы уже объездили почти всеь Кипр и хотите увидеть что-нибудь новенькое, уверена, для вас это будет интересное путешествие.

I worried when was about to go to this trip about my girls. At that moment, they were 3. But surprisingly, they were good and it was very interesting for them. We make stops to take pictures and just relax. And this beautiful trip inspired us to have another trip to the waterfall Caledonia. But that's another story which I will tell later.

So Avakas Gorge. Where is this gorge? You go there from Paphos.

Here are the coordinates of parking place near gorge: 34.920524 32.337793. From this location you start walking tour. The going was not so hard. I even saw tourists with babies in backpack carriers for babies. You go and enjoy the natural environment. All very nice, there is even bench where you can relax.
Near flowing stream, it creates its own atmosphere. Overlook the valley.  And after some time you can see amazing views of the george. I was struck by this view which looks so cool :) We reached "hanging stones" overheads. If we would be without kids, we definitely would have gone further. But the  streams of water flowing down on  heads my children didn't like!

 Personally for me Avakas Gorge - this is definitely one of the most beautiful places in Cyprus!
