Cyprus for 3 months

First time we came on Cyprus 2010.
After that decided that we definitely have to return one day...

First question: Why Cyprus? And why for 3 months?

We love Cyprus. This is Christina Orthodox country. We feel very comfortable living with Cypriots. Very warm memories left from our first visit: it's Sunday's Orthodox Church service in Limassol, meeting our friends from Nicosia and meeting our friend Billy. All these events deserves a separate blog posts and may be each not one.

From Septemeber 2012, Cyprus simplified Visa for Ukrainians. Now you would need just download a word doc form, complete it and send by email, in response you will have your so called Pro-Visa. That will be PDF attachment which you should need to print and get with you to airport. It allows you to be up to 3 months on the island. This program started to work for Russians even earlier and the procudure is all the same if somebody still don't know.
So, now you see why we went for 3 months. If to fly with 3 small kids then 'till the end and for a full satisfaction :)

Second question is rent. Why? Where? And how much?

We choose Paphos. For that we have few reasons. First of all it's price. In Limassol it's double! Pay extra just for to live in a big, noisy city? Disco clubs is what we love but last times here is almost no opportunity...

Did you know that bananas grows on Cyprus? But only in Paphos region :)

Husband found found an agency by Internet. We were choosing from few variants and final decision helped to do our friend who lives here. It is so nice to have a good friends :)
They sent us a tenant agreement by email, we signed it and made first payment from Ukraine.
You should know a little thing about long term rent on Cyprus. You should make a contract with electricity company yourself. For not to be with out electricity in our rented flat for a first our day we also booked a hotel in Paphos.
Here is a few pictures and video of that flat. It's simple but comfortable and clean. We are simple people so it's good for us.

Another important question asked many times it is Food on Cyprus
First times we eat in cafes and it's not cheap. But anyway we needed internet :)
Dish average price is about 8 euros. Most expensive here is fish it can be 20 euro for a nothing special.

So to eat outside is ok if you come for a vocation. But it's not our case. So we started to buy the food in supermarkets. Prices on Cyprus is comparable to Ukrainian. Something here is more expensive and other things opposite cheaper here. But in general we found that we spend the same.

Internet
Internet on Cyprus is expensive and slow! We payed for connection, plus wi-fi router, plus first month almost 200 euro. We forgot that archaic times when we had so slow Internet in Ukraine. And here in addition it's unstable...
But we can't live with out Internet because my husband needs it for his work.

Keep calm think of Cyprus
These not the all of reasons which makes us to stay on Cyprus. But I will write about Cyprus more and more, so just keep in touch and you will understand everything :)
If you have any certain questions - put them in comments bellow, I promise to answer soon!
